The Hawks pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third A. Miller singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run and Kevin Borntrager singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Hiland notched three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Hiland was led by Kobe Shetler, Tyler Kline, and A. Miller, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Malvern got things started in the first inning when Phillips singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Hiland pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored one run for Hiland, Ryan Hershbergersingled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Andy Miller's sac fly scored one run for the Hawks, and Casey Kalman singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Hiland scored four runs in the fourth inning. The Hawks's big inning was driven by singles by Brett Miller and Tyler Kline, a groundout by Logan Miller, and a double by Kevin Borntrager.

Hershberger was the winning pitcher for Hiland. He allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out six. Casey Lowe threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Minor took the loss for Malvern. He lasted two innings, allowing four hits and four runs while walking one.

Hiland scattered 13 hits in the game. Hershberger, A. Miller, B. Miller, and Kalman each had multiple hits for Hiland. Hershberger went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Hiland in hits.
